Embrasement / Blaze consists of a monumental sculpture made of poplar wood strips, constructed in situ. Named Orgue de bois (Wooden Organ) or Grandeur Nature (Life Size) when covered with sensors by electroacoustic musician Eric Cordier (website), it becomes a gigantic instrument in which dance invites itself to play physically and activate it spatially. This sculpture is set alight in a show with a soundtrack composed by Eric Cordier, and the blaze is fuelled by contemporary dance with Gilles Viandier and Elsa Ferret, in a score composed for the venue, with torches and fire pots. At the end, the audience is invited to light certain parts of the sculpture.
