Invited by the Zigzag festival organised by the Maison de l’Architecture de Normandie – Le Forum, I am developing a Red Street Pantone tour revisiting the architecture of the Reconstruction of Le Havre by Auguste Perret, and the emotional connection to this city where my paternal grandmother lived, which undoubtedly awakened my eye as an architect, and which I witness at several stages of the stroll. The tour starts at the top of the Scène Nationale du Volcan, where the blood-red sail emerges like sensual, silky, serpentine lava. It invites the public to walk along the Rue de Paris to the southern seafront, passing through Rue d’Estimauville, Place du Vieux Marché and the Natural History Museum, the forecourt of Notre-Dame Cathedral and the old billiard room on stilts. The collaboration with Etienne Veyres, an amateur kite maker, brings the participatory choreographed stroll to a close by playing with the wind at the foot of the Catène de containers and the red veil forming an anchor.
Musics : A Requiem, Penelope Trappes – Free Fall, Yuri Kato/Chikako Iwata/Satoshi Kamijo – Ay Dilber ! Aziza Mustafa Zadeh – Waltz For Debby, Clotilde Rullaud – Rebellion (Lies), Arcade Fire – 524 Hz, Laboreal – In Stiches, The Bad Plus – Beggin’, Måneskin – Live Fast! Die Old!, Munk – Immobile, Colin Vallon Trio. Sound engineer : Nicolas Tinel. Camera : Alex Xenakis. Security support : Club Alpin Français du Havre, Maxime Dorange, Esteban Ménard.
